I can't believe I'm still writing about COVID-19!
It's been a year now since the pandemic started. And, in a year's time, a lot of things transpired; many lives have been transformed instantly. Although the inevitable change caused insurmountable losses in terms of property, jobs, travels, dreams and most of all the lives globally impacted by the pandemic, it has brought out good outcomes in my little corner.
Working from home has its own challenges but, at the same time, I learned to do chores now with a grateful heart because if it wasn't for the year 2020, I wouldn't have realized how much I took these tasks for granted:
- cooking
- baking
- cleaning
- gardening
Yes, it's a domesticated life in addition for the need to be tech savvy in this ever-changing digital work life. On the other hand, I was also able to hone my creative-side because of lesser time to be on the road and more time to focus. Connectivity has never been easier these days, too. Due to the pandemic, my relationship with God, family, and friends has been reinforced more than ever. Financially, since staying home most of the time and with these stimulus checks, a few dollars have been saved letting me to achieve my financial goals one step at a time. And, I never realized that joining a marathon, one of my bucket list, can be done at this time, virtually!
Looking back, one of my
blog posts reminded me that the Lord has granted my wish instantly! Honestly, I'm loving every minute whenever I think of being sparred from the dreadful metro-DC traffic! Never in my wildest dream did I ever think that remote work would be the answer of that
blog post. However, this dream-like work scenario will soon have to go back to normalcy, which might not be for my favor, but I am still thankful and I consider this recent year a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Meanwhile, I have to cherish every moment as I do my weekday job in a zoom meeting while thinking of what meals to prepare; and, making sure that the house is livable while creating memories together with loved ones, physically or digitally.
Still grateful.
