One sad day
It is disheartening to know that many innocent lives are once again lost from a gunman’s hand. The massacre at Binghamtom, NY is the latest. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
On the other hand, what was on the mind of the killer? Was he a mad man or was he a victim of social indifference? Police said he just lost his job; as a migrant, he had poor English skill causing him difficulty to find a more stable job.
In another recent article, I couldn’t help but give out a big sigh as well. In South Carolina, a woman was found dead after 18 months in her house alone. There was no foul play, it was a natural cause. But she was never found out because no one bothered to check on her.
“We do our own thing. We lead busy lives. We go and go and go ... and stay within our comfort zone,” was one of the comments made by a clergy in an attempt to answer on why neighbors failed to check on the 78 year old American woman. Neighbors said they seldom see the childless widow go out nor was there any family member who comes to visit her.
What was on the woman’s mind when she was all alone by herself? What caused her to isolate herself from people in the first place?
Today, three officers who responded to a call of despair, were killed by another jobless gunman in Pennsylvania.
What was his reason for doing it? What went wrong?
These are questions left unanswered. It’s only the people who are now gone could answer it. Or maybe they don’t even have an answer to it.
It’s sad.
With these events, it leads me to think that truly death is inevitable; eternal Life is optional.
